Bill Cosby

Never in my life did I ever think it would be possible for me to be in the same room as Bill Cosby. I never thought I'd have the opportunity to see him live. But that's what happened yesterday! Bill Cosby booked one show at BYU - Idaho, but ended up doing three due to popular demand. It was fantastic. Bill Cosby is a legend. Whether you know it or not he has changed America and the way we perceive others. Flash photography was not allowed so I was unable to take pictures of him, but here is one from The Rexburg Standard Journal. You can read the article here.

I just adore Bill Cosby.  I first discovered Cosby by watching reruns of the Cosby Show. I then discovered a younger Cosby in clips of the Dean Martin Variety Show. No matter what he does he's genius. He has perfect timing (as I clearly saw on Friday night). I am so grateful I was able to see such an amazing, talented, human being.

Just in case you are unfamiliar with Bill Cosby I want to share a few of my favorite clips.

What do you think of Bill Cosby? Did you like the clips?

Did anyone else see Bill Cosby while he was in Rexburg? What did you think?

My Weekend in Movies

Friday

The Dean Martin Variety Show (1965-1974)

via Beck/Smith Hollywood

Really, it's brilliant. I cannot get enough. Dean Martin is just so COOL! I swoon when I watch him....

Bottom line: Hysterical!

Amercian Experience: Jonestown (2007)

via pbs.org
If you haven't heard about Jonestown and the Peoples Temple you need to do some watching or reading. It is fascinating. And so tragic. Watch the following video... it makes me want to cry...

Bottom line: This is history. America's history. But it's not pretty. I think it's good to be aware of such things.

Somewhere in Time (1980)

via MBC.net

I love love love this movie. That's why it's the second time you've seen it on my blog! By the way I finally purchased it!

Bottom line: Amazing music, beautiful story, fantastic cast. What's not to love?

My Weekend in Movies

Friday

The Mentalist (2008 - present)

via The Mentalist Wiki

What can I say? We love the Mentalist.

Bottom line: Fantastic show. I adore all of the main characters. Watch it.

Saturday

The Frank Sinatra Spectacular (1965)

Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra and Johnny Carson via The Daily Caller
I discovered this event about a year ago. Since then I've watched it on YouTube too many times to count. Last week it was taken down. I nearly died. I had been planning to purchase it on DVD and now I was forced to. It finally arrived on Saturday, so I put in on right away. Absolutely delightful. Johnny Carson hosted as these three sang and joked. They each had a turn on stage alone and then together.

There is a clip of the end of the show for you. If you like these guys at all I would recommend watching the whole show. It gives you a great feel for their friendships and humor. It's just so good! Someone else put the show up so you can watch it here.

Bottom line: I won't be surprised if I wear this DVD out. I'm so glad I bought it. I don't know how you could be disappointed in such a concert!

The Best of the Dean Martin Variety Show (1965 - 1974)

Dean Martin laughin' it up via ilovedinomartin
This is humor at it's finest. I love variety shows! I think my favorite thing to see is when Dean starts laughing and he can't stop.

Bottom line: Hilarious. Get on YouTube and watch some more. What a fun way to spend your time. Grab a friend and then you can quote them later to each other.
